House Rules

House Rules of Het Arresthuis
Het Arresthuis has established a number of house rules to clarify expectations for both our guests and ourselves. By entering Het Arresthuis, you agree to the rules below. All instructions from our staff relating to these house rules must be followed immediately.

1. General House Rules for Your and Our Safety

Our staff ensures your safety. In case of emergencies, the emergency plan is activated. Please follow staff instructions. Respect is essential at Het Arresthuis: offensive or discriminatory remarks are prohibited. Sexual harassment, whether verbal or physical, is strictly forbidden. Violence or threats of violence are not tolerated.
Cameras are placed throughout Het Arresthuis. By being present, you consent to being recorded. Recordings may be used in case of incidents or emergencies.
Lost property must be handed in at reception. Do not leave belongings unattended in the hotel or your vehicle. Het Arresthuis is not liable for loss, theft, or damage. Parking, both on-site and in the vicinity, is at your own risk.
It is prohibited to trade, sell, or offer goods or services inside Het Arresthuis. Prepaid room charges are non-refundable.
In cases not covered by these rules, management will decide.

2. Fire

Stay calm in the event of fire. Report immediately to reception (dial 9) or activate the nearest fire alarm.
In case of heavy smoke, stay low to the ground. Never use the lift.
When the general fire alarm sounds, leave the building as quickly as possible. Always follow staff instructions.
Each room has an evacuation map with the nearest emergency exits.

3. Emergency Exits

All emergency exits are clearly marked and illuminated. They may only be used in case of fire or if instructed by staff. They may not be used as regular entrances or exits.

4. Accidents

In case of an accident, call 112 immediately and inform reception (dial 9). Trained emergency response staff are available to provide assistance and call professional help.

5. Check-in / Check-out

Guests must be at least 18 years old to book a room. Every guest in the travel party must be at least 18 years old.
A valid ID must be shown at check-in.
Check-in: from 15:00 | Check-out: before 12:00.
Late check-out until 17:00 is possible only for standard rooms, subject to availability, and must be arranged and paid before 12:00.
No more guests may stay in the room than originally reserved. After 23:00, outside visitors are not allowed. Visitors must register at reception.

6. CCTV Surveillance

Cameras are installed in several areas. By being present, you consent to recordings, which may be used as supporting evidence in case of incidents.

7. Theft

Het Arresthuis is not responsible for theft or loss of belongings.

8. Lost & Found

Lost or found items must be reported to reception.
Food and drinks left in a checked-out room will be discarded.

9. Hotel Property

It is forbidden to remove hotel property. Damage to property will be charged and may be reported to the police.

10. Alcohol & Drugs

Het Arresthuis complies with Dutch alcohol laws. No alcohol will be served to guests under 18. Staff may request ID.
Alcohol will not be served to guests under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
The possession, use, or trade of (soft)drugs, nitrous oxide cartridges, or weapons is strictly forbidden.

11. Weapons

Weapons are not allowed in Het Arresthuis. Police will be called if discovered.

12. Noise Nuisance

To respect other guests, noise nuisance is not allowed. After one warning, you may be asked to leave without refund.

13. Zero Tolerance

The following is strictly prohibited:

  • Exceeding the number of guests reserved for the room

  • Smoking in the room (cleaning fee €150; if fire alarm triggered: fire brigade costs €275 charged)

  • Burning candles in the room

  • Causing nuisance by noise or unacceptable behaviour

  • Using, possessing, or trading drugs

  • Using or possessing nitrous oxide (cream cartridges)

  • Renting a room under someone else’s name without being present
    Violation will result in one warning. Repeated violation will result in immediate removal without refund.

14. Suite Regulations

  • Smoking is not allowed (cleaning fee €250 applies)

  • Unregistered guests are not allowed

  • Pets are not allowed

  • Candles, incense, or shisha are strictly forbidden (will trigger fire alarm)

  • Max. 2 persons per suite (baby cot possible for €7.50 per night)

  • Check-out before 12:00; room will be inspected afterwards

  • Damage, loss, or destruction of property may be reported to police and charged

  • A €250 deposit is required, refunded if the room is left in good condition
    Possession or use of drugs is strictly forbidden. Violations will result in removal without refund and police involvement.
